5 More Ways To Save Money For Your Wedding
We love looking at ways for people to save money during their weddings because weddings are expensive. Actually, three things are the most expensive things for weddings; the rings, the wedding dress, and the reception. We're not going to touch any of those things this time around; we have other things we've thought about.
1. Ask more than one friend to sing a song at your wedding, and to sing "A Cappella". This means without music. The reason is because if you ask someone to sing more than one song, you should feel compelled to pay them, but if you ask for only one song, most friends will "gift" that to you. Just do it more than once and, if you're ready to deal with the consequences of someone being off key without music, it'll all be fine.
2. Pick flowers from your garden, backyard, or other places for your bouquet. Who says flowers have to come from a florist all the time? There are lots of beautiful flowers that people see all the time, in all sorts of different colors that would do the trick just as well. Be sure to wash them well, and as a suggestion don't put any dandelions in the mix.
3. Print and fold your own wedding agenda. A ream of paper costs $3 and comes with 500 sheets. If you don't add a color picture and stick mainly with black, an extra ink cartridge might cost you another $15. Then all you need to do is script out your agenda in a word processor or something like Microsoft Publisher and you're good to go. Sure, it might take some time if you have 200 potential guests coming, but that's what friends are for.
4. Take a pair of shoes you like that you haven't worn in a long time and have them dyed the color you want for your wedding ensemble. Only you will know, and a dye job might cost $20 at most, whereas new shoes could run you upwards of $250 or more. While you're at it, have the groom get his black leathers shined as well.
5. Don't decorate the church, and don't put down a runner either. Most churches can carry off aesthetics just fine without adding anything to them, and runners often get in the way more than they enhance anything. Both are just one less thing to worry about, and you can use the money for other things.
